U.S. Celebrates Ties With India Through the Launch of a Special Book

NEW DELHI - The United States today released a book to celebrate a transformation in U.S.-India relations. U.S. Ambassador to India David C. Mulford launched the publication, "People, Progress, Partnership: The Transformation of U.S.-India Relations," which showcases the strengthening of U.S.-India relations over the past five years.
The publication provides a vivid and human account of the positive shift in cooperation and highlights key areas of the bilateral relationship, including economic, environment, people-to-people, health, science, technology and military partnerships.
The book's introduction is by U.S. Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, who wrote that "during the past few years, we have seen a real change and fundamental transformation in relations between the United States and India."
Minister of State for External Affairs Rao Inderjit Singh was chief guest at the launch event held at the U.S. Ambassador's residence. Addressing the gathering of eminent Indian invitees, the U.S. Ambassador praised the "dynamic relationship" and the cooperation that is occurring between the two countries on a wide range of issues.
Ambassador Mulford said, "Today we are engaged in countless ways on the same side of issues. We have a genuine partnership, with closer cooperation, stronger ties, and a clearer recognition of our shared values than ever before."
"People, Progress, Partnership: The Transformation of U.S.-India Relations" was produced by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy New Delhi.
