Whether you will be staying in India for a few days or a few years, the U.S. Embassy is here to help. We provide services to Americans in the Indian states of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, and the country of Bhutan. Location and hours:
Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., except on holidays.
No appointment necessary, except for filing a Report of Birth Abroad/passport application for your baby born in India. Please contact us to schedule an appointment for your baby.
Please note: Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not permitted inside the Embassy. We recommend you leave such devices at home on the day of your visit. If you are carrying your phone with you, you will be required to leave it in a separate area of the Embassy.
The U.S. Embassy is located on Shantipath in the Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi. The Consular entrance is Gate 6 (also called "Visa Gate") on Andre Malraux Marg, between Nyaya Marg and Shantipath. See the pinpointed location on the map below.
