November 18, 2009 At a press conference in New Delhi on November 18, Ambassador Timothy J. Roemer set the stage for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to the United States and announced the 2009 Open Doors report showing an increase in the number of Indians studying in the U.S.

November 6, 2009 Ambassador Roemer and his wife, Sally, met with women at Dastkar Ranthambore, a women's self-help initiative. The two toured the facility and purchased a number of beautiful crafts. The organization works to revive and sustain indigenous crafts and provide livelihoods to women from villages affected by the formation of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve
