On February 10, 2008, over 3,000 women and men took part in a 5 kilometer "Walk for Life" in New Delhi, sponsored by leading Indian NGO CanSupport to raise awareness about breast cancer. The United States Trade and Development Agency on February 7, 2008 awarded a grant to India's Binani Cement Limited that will incorporate efficient surface mining technology and practices in India for smaller mining concessions.
