IMMIGRANT VISAS

Medical Reports Information

The Embassy has authorized the physicians listed below in this notice to give medical examinations to visa applicants.  Make your own arrangement for examination by any physician on the list at least seven days before your immigrant visa applicant.

For each family, bring

  • A passport
  • Three recent photographs
  • All medical records of vaccinations, prior illness or treatments.  You must discuss your medical history and current conditions - pregnancy, diabetes, hypertension and other conditions and medications taken - with the physician.

The physicians are Indian citizens practicing locally, and the examination they give to visa applicants conforms to standards and terminology prescribed by the United States Public Health Service.  Any attempt by the applicant to influence the physician's medical judgment will reflex unfavorably on the visa application.

The physician may need four to seven days to prepare the results of your medical examination.  Collect the report from him/her and bring it to Embassy on the day of your formal visa application appointment.

Children under fifteen years of age will have a general examination, not the X-ray or the pathology exam.  Medical examination for immigrant visa applicants fifteen years of age and older will include a serologic test for HIV infection.
