 Saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, a member of the visiting American Jazz Stars group, participated in a master class with jazz musicians and enthusiasts at the Ravishankar Institute of Music and Performing Arts (RIMPA). Also present on the occasion was Pandit Ravishankar, New Delhi, January 18, 2005. East met West in a joint concert by U.S. jazz band Sunny Jain Collective and Rajasthani folk artistes in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on January 20, 2005. The band's visit to Jaipur was jointly sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, and the Jaipur Virasat Foundation. New York-based post modern choreographer Jill Sigman gave a live performance on Gender, Body and Movement -- with video and audio illustrations -- in New Delhi on Friday, January 28, 2005. Sigman's performance was co-sponsored by the American Embassy's Public Affairs Section and the New Delhi-based Kri Foundation.
