Well-known American authors at Jaipur Literature Festival
New Delhi | January 20, 2012
The American Center is proud to support the participation of American authors at the Jaipur Literature Festival, January 20-24, 2012. Through this collaboration, the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi encourages interaction between Indian and American authors and audiences. The festival provides an opportunity to showcase American ideas and literary traditions through the participation of renowned American authors.
The American Center booth at the festival allows visitors to experience American Center programs, interact with Embassy officers, and learn more about the United States. This year, our focus is engaging online audiences through social media and highlighting literature through new technologies, including e-books and the e-zine of our in-house magazine, "SPAN," which reaches nearly 500,000 readers. All festival visitors are invited to visit our booth and can experience American tablet technology, and learn more about the American authors participating in the festival.
On Tuesday, January 24, the American Center will host a live art performance by Tracy Lee Stum, an internationally recognized street painter who specializes in spectacular and interactive 3D chalk art street paintings. She will create her art on the grounds of the festival, for all festival visitors to experience.
