NEW DELHI -- United States Ambassador to India David C. Mulford today announced the death of former United States Ambassador to India William Clark, Jr.  Ambassador Clark passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in Washington D.C.
 
Ambassador Clark served as U.S. Ambassador to India from 1989 to 1992, and as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs from 1992 to 1993.

Ambassador Mulford offered condolences on behalf of the Embassy community to Ambassador Clark's widow, Judith, and to his family and friends around the world.
