U.S. Ambassador dedicates Tibetan Refugee Reception Center

New Delhi -- U.S. Ambassador to India Timothy J. Roemer visited Dharamsala on February 23-24 to dedicate a center for refugees. Ambassador Roemer was the honored Special Guest at the inauguration of the new $1.4 million Tibetan Refugee Reception Center, which received approximately 60% of its funding from the U.S. Government and can house up to 500 refugees.

"India is a model for the generous support and hospitality it has shown to Tibetan refugees over several decades.  We are pleased that America can contribute to this important effort," Ambassador Roemer said.
