May 15, 2008

NEW DELHI -- The American Library at 24 Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi, will be closed from Saturday, May 24 through Sunday, June 1 for renovation.  The newly refurbished library will reopen on Monday, June 2.

A familiar landmark located in the heart of New Delhi, the American Library has offered world class library and information services to hundreds of thousands patrons, including Indian government representatives, academic leaders, journalists, students and young professionals for over sixty years.

In addition to cosmetic and security improvements being made in the Library, Library staff will be upgrading their unique collection of books and periodicals during the renovation.

The management and staff of the American Library regret any inconvenience to library members during the closure, and look forward to welcoming patrons, friends, and newcomers to the renovated facility.
