American Center Participates in Delhi Book Fair

NEW DELHI - The American Center is participating in the 12th Delhi Book Fair at Pragati Maidan September 16-24, 2006. Representatives from the American Library, SPAN magazine and the Regional English Language Office will be located at booth number 93 in Hall 11.
The nine-day fair will launch a year-long celebration of the American Library's 60th anniversary. Librarians will be available to answer questions related to library membership, reference services and collections. Books on learning and teaching the English language will be available for sale. Individuals and institutions interested in memberships to the library can benefit from various combo offers during the fair.
SPAN magazine, published in English, Hindi and Urdu, will also be available for subscription at the booth. Attractive promotional schemes will be offered for paid subscribers. SPAN has been published in India for 47 years, providing readers with an important source of information about American life and society, and has highlighted areas of U.S.-India collaboration in a variety of spheres: government, business, the social sector, the arts, science and technology.
American Center staff will also be conducting daily quizzes and competitions with prizes awarded to those who are well versed on American trivia. These quizzes will offer a great opportunity for people interested in learning more about contemporary American society and life in the United States.
