Internet Access

Free access to Internet is provided to the library patrons.

Wireless Internet Access @ The American Library, New Delhi

We are pleased to inform you that the American Library is now Wi-Fi enabled and offers free wireless Internet access to its patrons.  The Library has 40 connections, which are provided on a first-come-first served basis. You are welcome to bring in your laptop or wireless enabled device and register at the Reference Desk for accessing the high speed internet facility.

Access to CD-ROM and Online Databases

ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG (OPAC)

Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) provides information about resources available in the libraries in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and New Delhi.

The online public access catalog of the American Libraries in India is temporarily unavailable while we migrate to a new integrated library system.  The new online catalog should be available in November 2009.  We look forward to providing even better service with this new system.

Orientation

The American Library provides orientation of library resources and services to individuals and groups on request.

Photocopying Services/Laser Prints

  • Colored photocopy per page Rs. 25/-
  • Laser print Rs. 3/-

The Library reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying request if in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of U.S. Copyright law (Title 17, U.S. Code).

Mail Loan

(Postal/Distance Membership)

The American Library offers mail loan service to patrons residing in Northern India. Outstation members may borrow four books at a time for four weeks. Books are sent by registered post and the borrower must return the material by registered post at his/her own expense. Patrons may write to the Library Director indicating their subject areas of interest to obtain bibliographies of available books.
